Redwood Forest
Redwood Forest is a spot I never fail to visit when I am up in the Warburton area. It is easy to get to and well hidden off the main road.
It is located on Cement creek road, about 10 minutes out of the town of Warburton. You follow this road down and over a small bridge until you reach the large carpark to the entrance of Redwood Forest. Here you will already see how beautiful the forest looks.
It gets incredibly busy on weekends whether it's hot or cold. Lucky for me I have the freedom to go during the week due to working night shifts.
As you pull into the carpark your will be greeted with a large grassy area followed by huge Californian Redwood trees. These trees are over 90 years old and can live up to 2000 years! Worth protecting, don't you think?
As you walk through the forest which is like something out of a storybook or if your a fan of the Twilight movies it kind of reminds me of that.
You will come across some very cool and quiet large bird nests which make for great photo opportunities.
If you keep on heading down to the bottom of the forest you will find a track that heads down to the refreshing cement creek river.
It's worth spending some time here for its unique beauty and enjoying a picnic or a walk along the river. If your lucky sometimes there's a coffee and hot food van there on weekends.
Perfect for all ages, kids will enjoy the freedom of running around all the trees and counting all the nests.
